AI disruption: Thousands of users report ChatGPT, Claude issues

Major AI chatbots, including ChatGPT, Claude and Grok, were all down or experiencing issues for many users Thursday, according to DownDetector and status pages.

WASHINGTON — ChatGPT, Claude and Grok were giving some users major trouble Thursday morning, with thousands of people reporting issues with some of the major AI chatbots. 

OpenAI's status page acknowledged its ChatGPT and Codex services were having issues around 11 a.m. Eastern Sept. 3. For a time, ChatGPT's website wouldn't load.
