CLEVELAND — Medicare beneficiaries often toss thick insurance mail without a second look, but one envelope this September is worth opening: the Annual Notice of Change, or ANOC. Medicare plans send this notice every year to spell out what's changing for 2027, including premiums, deductibles and copays.

Drug coverage can shift too, so it's worth checking whether your medications are still covered and at what cost. Provider networks can also change year to year, so don't assume your doctors are still in-network. A few minutes reviewing the notice now can save months of unexpected costs come January.
