Premiering Sept. 6, new episodes of "A Tale of Two Cities" are released through Sept. 27 on MGM+.
WASHINGTON — One of the best-selling books of all time is getting a new adaptation.
Charles Dickens' "A Tale of Two Cities" is set in the late 1700s in London during the war between France and Britain. A messenger, Charles Darnay (François Civil), informs a young woman, Lucie Manette (Mirren Mack), that her father, whom she assumed was killed nearly 20 years ago, may be alive. Manette enlists the help of a lawyer, Sydney Carton (Kit Harington), to free Darnay after he was arrested and charged with treason. The three of them travel to Paris to track down her father, as both men fight for her love.
