A 43-year-old man died after he fell into Ely Lake while paddleboarding and was unresponsive.
EVELETH, Minn. — A man died after falling off a paddleboard Tuesday night on Ely Lake near Eveleth.
The St. Louis County Sheriff's Office shared the 43-year-old man had been paddleboarding with his young daughter when he fell into the water and was unresponsive. His daughter brought him to shore and people at the lake were able to help him to shore and give him CPR.
The man and his daughter were not wearing life jackets at the time of the fall. The man died at the scene.
The St. Louis County Sheriff's Office is investigating the drowning. Law enforcement will share the name of the deceased after family is notified.
