A man, woman and child were confronted by an armed suspect in downtown Minneapolis on Sunday afternoon, and the man was later shot after allegedly being held at gun point, according to police.
Investigators say that the man, woman and child were dropping the child off near the 900 block of Park Avenue when a man that they knew approached the car they were in and threatened to rob and shoot the group.
Minneapolis police said the woman and child ran away while the suspect allegedly forced the male victim at gunpoint to drive about one block away before shooting him.
Despite being shot, police say that the victim drove himself to a nearby hospital, where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
When police arrived to the scene at around 3:25 p.m., they were not able to locate the suspect. Investigators say the suspect fled on foot back toward the original address after the shooting.
