Minneapolis FBI agent says local partnerships are key to youth gang violence crackdown

The Minneapolis FBI Field Office says they’re tracking a similar trend in youth gang violence in the metro — adding as they adjust to investigate, their local partnerships will be key in cracking down on the issue. 

Not six months into the role, local Special Agent in Charge, Chris Dotson, says from what he’s seen with those partners he has confidence they’ll be able to do it. 

“Saint Paul Police, the Minneapolis Police, Ramsey County, you name it, we’ve got a partnership with them, and the amount of communication and interaction between these agencies is again one that I have not seen replicated in several cities that I’ve worked in,” Dotson said — those cities include Los Angeles, Baltimore, and Washington D.C. 

Here in the Twin Cities and surrounding metro, Dotson says they’re tracking a new trend of gang activity.
