MPD investigating homicide initially deemed a ‘suspicious death’

Minneapolis police are conducting a homicide investigation after a man was found dead in an apartment in July.

Police responded to a report of an overdose inside an apartment on the 1500 block of Nicollet Avenue on July 8, according to a spokesperson for the Minneapolis Police Department (MPD).

Abdiwahab Isse, 54, was found inside the apartment; he did not respond to treatment and was pronounced dead at the scene, MPD officials said. His death was initially deemed suspicious — on Thursday, police said a homicide investigation is underway.

No arrests have been made at this time.
