North Memorial Health’s merger with South Dakota-based Sanford Health is now finalized, the healthcare systems announced on Tuesday.
The deal means North Memorial facilities will now operate under the Sanford banner as one nonprofit system.
As part of an oversight agreement brokered by Attorney General Keith Ellison’s office, Sanford will be required to keep core services at Robbinsdale Hospital, including its Level 1 trauma center, for 10 years. Sanford also agreed to invest $600 million across North Memorial’s hospitals in Robbinsdale and Maple Grove.
