The eight-episode first season of "Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone" premieres Dec. 25 on HBO and HBO Max.

WASHINGTON — HBO unveiled an extended look at the magic happening inside Harry Potter's first year at Hogwarts.

The second trailer for "Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone," released Wednesday, Sept. 2, kicks off with Professor McGonagall (Janet McTeer) leading first-year students through the The Great Hall for the sorting ceremony to determine which house they'll be assigned to.

"The house you're put in basically decides our entire future — so, no pressure," a student said in the 2-minute, 37-second trailer.
