Woman accused of killing 18-month-old daughter after losing custody sentenced to over 31 years

A Champlin woman accused of murdering her 18-month-old daughter after losing custody has been sentenced.

Maige Yang, 24, pleaded guilty to one count of second-degree murder in June, amending her previous plea and was sentenced in July to serve 380 months (over 31 years) in prison. She will receive 196 days of credit for time already served.

Yang is accused of killing her 18-month-old in January of 2026.
